Astalavista NewsletterChallenge: Re-design a newsletter to make it more visually appealing and easier to read. To test our design skills, we were restricted to two colours and one graphic per page. Solution: Edit text for space considerations, introduce design elements such as pullquotes, sidebars, headings, and subheadings. Use colour judiciously. Result: A newsletter that is inviting and reader friendly. |

Gamer Zone MagazineChallenge: To design an eight-page full-colour magazine using Adobe InDesign. Solution: Set up a design grid; use principles of symmetry; balance weight, colour, and space; set off text chunks into sidebars and pullquotes. Result: A fun, bright magazine that draws the reader in through carefully considered design principles. |

Blurb WebsiteChallenge: Collaborate in a four-person team to create a fully functional website using Dreamweaver. Solution:Create a timeline. Assign tasks to team members. Manage workflow through project management. Undergo alpha and beta testing in user testing groups. Result: This project recieved high accolades and passed all usability tests. A digitial assets management system was put in place to handle the large jpeg collection.
